Benelli is likely to try its hands on the premium scooter market as a test mule of the quarter-litre Zafferano 250 was recently spotted testing in Pune, India. Photographs of the maxi-scooter were first published by motoring portal TeamBHP. The scooter is already available in select South-East Asian markets. and is priced at IDR 45,550,000 in Indonesia. The amount roughly translates to INR 2.18 lakh.




The quarter-litre scooter draws 21PS of maximum power @ 7,000 rpm and 20.83 Nm of peak torque from its 249.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, fuel injected engine. Other features includes twin-pod headlight, a semi-digital instrument console, 12-litre fuel tank, tall windscreen, dual disc brakes upfront and single disc at the rear, a telescopic suspension, upfront and adjustable shock absorber at the rear and 14-inch alloy wheels. The storage space is big enough to accommodate two helmets.




DSK-Benelli India has remained tight-lipped about any further details about the maxi-scooter. We’re unlikely to see the Zafferano 250 arrive in the Indian market in 2017. We may hear some more details about the maxi-scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo.
