Triumph Street triple RS
The Street Triple 765 RS, launched at Rs 10.55 lakh (ex-showroom, India).The second variant of the new-generation has launched after Street Triple S was launched earlier this year. Both motorcycles share the same engine and chassis but the RS variant makes more power which is 121 bhp at 11,700 rpm and a peak torque of 77 Nm at 10,800 rpm. The RS also gets top-shelf equipment in the form of Brembo brakes and 41 mm Showa big piston forks upfront and an Ohlins monoshock at the rear.
While the new design remains almost unchanged as compared to the existing S version, the new RS trim gets sportier bar-end mirrors and a rear seat cowl. The paint options are also new including silver and black. There no change in the ergonomics as well and it continues to offer a perfect balance between sporty and comfortable riding posture.
The Street Triple RS gets a 5-inch full colour TFT screen, which works as the instrument console. The console can be programmed in two different themes and three different styles and the contrast can be adjusted as well. Carrying over from the Street Triple S, the RS gets switchable traction control and ABS and ride-by-wire. Additionally, the RS gets five riding models which are road, rain, sport, track and individual.
The 166kg weighing motorcycle is around 2kg lighter than its previous model, which further enhanced the performance. To provide the perfect grip to the high-performance motorcycle, the lightweight alloys come shod with super sticky Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.
As the bike has been developed to match the performance and handling of a road as well as a track compatible machine, the new model gets a 25mm jump on the seat height to 825mm. The seat height of the RS version is 15mm higher than the new Street Triple S.
The Street Triple RS will have two colour options, which are matt silver ice and phantom black. The bike will also have a body-coloured cowl for the pillion seat. Triumph will offer over 60 custom accessories for the Street Triple RS which inlcudes Arrow exhausts, swingarm protector kit.
