2k18 Himalayan Sleet Launched at 2.13 Lakhs; Comes With 5 Accessories Pre-Fitted

2k18 Himalayan Sleet Edition

2018 Himalayan Sleet gets new camouflage-pattern Grey colour & adventure accessories…
Royal Enfield Himalayan, the motorcycle which has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons, was introduced with fuel injection, BS4 compliance and a lot of part changes few months back. Siddharth Lal, in fact, went onto claim that the new BS4 model is issue-free which is not entirely true though!

However, we were surprised that Royal Enfield did not capitalise on the halt (to rectify its issues) and re-introduced the motorcycle in the same colours of white and black. We have seen various owners modifying their advs in other colours.

And in a latest update, Royal Enfield has launched the new 2018 Himalayan ‘Sleet’ in India which comes in a new camouflage grey colour and it will be limited to only 500 units. Frankly, it looks like an aftermarket paint job, but it probably goes with the adventure theme of the motorcycle. Such a colour pattern has not been seen before in any other motorcycle.

Himalayan Sleet Accessories
Apart from the new colour, Sleet comes pre-fitted with an Explorer Kit which comprises of…
  • Two 26 liters water resistant Aluminium panniers
  • pannier mounting rails
  • off-road style aluminium handlebar with cross brace. RE says this is for added strength.
  • Handlebar end weights
  • powder-coated finish larger engine guard

Apart from this, there are no other mehcnaical changes to the motorcycle and yes there is no ABS on offer yet which means the safer version, which is being produced for the export markets, will only be available in the domestic market from 2019 when it becomes mandatory for every motorcycle (over 125 cc)!
Colours aside, we hope the new versions are better in quality and do not disappoint its owners.

Himalayan Sleet Price
Himalayan Sleet - Rs 2,12,666

*price on road in Chennai

RE says this is the introductory price for the motorcycle. What is confusing is the fact that they say they will only make 500 units of the same (which are expected to be exhausted on 30th Jan) then what does the term ‘introductory’ mean? Probably, Royal Enfield may continue to sell the Sleet without the explorer kit then.
