2017 Yamaha Fazer 25 Launched In India At Rs. 1.28 Lakh

Yamaha Fazer 25 Launched In India
X INFORMATION

The Fazer 25 sports tourer motorcycle is the full-faired version of the Yamaha FZ25, and also the most expensive Yamaha bike to be manufactured in India

Yamaha has launched the new Fazer 25 in India for Rs 1,29,335 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). In comparison, the Yamaha FZ25 retails for Rs 1,19,335 (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The Yamaha Fazer 25 is the faired version of the Yamaha FZ25 street bike and also the first full-faired 250cc motorcycle from Yamaha for India. The Yamaha FZ25 in our opinion always had the basics of being an able touring machine but had only one chink in its armour, and that was wind blast at high speeds. Now, Yamaha has addressed it by giving a tall windscreen and a full-faired body in the form of the Fazer 25. The new motorcycle will sit above the Yamaha Fazer, which is a quarter-faired 150cc motorcycle.

Spy pictures of the Yamaha Fazer 25 had emerged before the launch and in terms of styling, it isn’t a pleasing-looking bike. Yamaha designers have tried to mould the front apron and windscreen around the existing LED headlight of the FZ25 and the end result can’t be termed pretty. In profile though, the mass-forward design gives the bike a bulky feel which will delight many bikers who like large proportions. The designers have used the dual-tone colour option cleverly. The tail section, tank profile, exhaust muffler and the fully digital instrument cluster has been carried forward from its naked sibling.

Powering the Yamaha Fazer 25 is the same quarter-litre engine as seen on the FZ25. The 249cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivers 20.9PS at 8,000rpm and 20Nm of peak torque arrives at 6,000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox. The bike employs a diamond-type frame that is suspended on telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the back, similar to the FZ25. It runs on 11/80 R17 section tyre at the front and a meaty 140/70 R17 section rear tyre. The Fazer 25 carries a kerb weight of 154Kg, with a company claimed fuel economy of 40kmpl. The Yamaha Fazer 25 faces competition from the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, which carries a sticker price of Rs 1.22 lakh for the standard variant while the ABS version has been priced at Rs 1.34 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

Yamaha Fazer 25 is available in 2 shades namely Soulful Cyan (Grey and Blue) and Rhythmic Red (Red and Gold). The key rivals of Yamaha Fazer 25 in this price segment are Yamaha R15 V2, Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Dominar 400, Honda CBR250R (Coming Soon), and Royal Enfield Classic 350. Out of all these bikes, only Bajaj is offering ABS as an option on the Pulsar RS200 and Dominar 400.
