Triumph Street Scrambler launched in India for Rs 8.10 lakh ex-showroom (pan India). The Triumph Street Scrambler is yet another addition to the Bonneville family on sale in India.


The Triumph Street Scrambler boasts a distinct design language that sets it apart from the rest of the range, although the motorcycle is based on the Bonneville lineup. The notable changes include the high-mounted exhaust system, redesigned seat and rear fender, and dual purpose knobby tyres.

The newly-launched Triumph Street Scrambler is powered by the company's 900cc, liquid-cooled high-torque engine, combined with a 5-speed gearbox. The engine produces 54bhp and 78.8Nm of torque. The ride-by-wire technology helps with rider aids such traction control and switchable ABS.

The suspension duties on the motorcycle are served by a 41mm KYB front forks and twin shocks with adjustable pre load, both with 120mm preload. The stopping power is done by 310mm single disc single at the front and single 255mm disc at the rear with a switchable ABS, the last coming in particularly handy in off-road conditions.

The Triumph Street Scrambler is built on a dedicated scrambler chassis and gets telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, disc brakes at both ends and bash plate.


It has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and delivers fuel efficiency of about 26 kmpl. The motorcycle gets a host of features such as LCD display with analogue speedometer, odometer, traction control display, gear position indicator, TPMS( tyre pressure monitoring system) and switchable traction control, interchangeable pillion seats, aluminium rack with removable pillion pegs. In addition, the Street Scrambler gets an immobiliser, LED rear light and USB socket.


Also, the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in Metzeler Tourance tyres help give the motorcycle decent off-road capabilities.

The new kid on the block, the Triumph Street Scrambler is available in Jet Black, Matte Khaki Green, and Korosi Red and Frozen Silver colours.

The motorcycle will compete with the likes of Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled. Recently, Triumph also launched the Speed Triple S at a price of Rs 8.50 lakh and it is expected that the British brand may introduce the powerful versions of it R and RS soon.
