2018 Yamaha FZ-S FI, Fazer FI rear disc brake variant spied;Launch soon

2k18 FZ-S FI, Fazer FI Gets Rear Disc

Yamaha’s stunning Fazer and FZ-S motorcycles are all set to receive 2018 model year updates. As part of this, both of them will get an optional rear disc brake option.

This update has been eagerly awaited by motorcycle enthusiasts in the country, ever since it was first launched. Apart from the rear disc, there will be a host of cosmetic updates and new colour options as well. The new FZ-S and Fazer features split seats, new headlight design, new instrument control with LCD multi function digital display, refreshed tail lamps and rear design. Both new Yamaha motorcycles will also feature attractive decals.

Yamaha has designed the new Fazer FI and FZ-S FI to look more macho, more powerful and more comfortable. Compared to the older bikes, new Yamaha motorcycles will be more aerodynamic, will offer best in class initial pickup, less vibrations, increased fuel efficiency, and new grip design radial tubeless tyres.

It will continue to feature their Blue Core Engine. This is a 149 cc unit generating 13.1 PS and 12.8 Nm torque. This surprisingly is a smaller unit as compared to the previous 153 cc unit, seen on the older FZ-S and Fazer Ver 1. But thanks to improved design, reduced weight, the performance and efficiency is much better than before.
Expect the 2018 variants to be launched in the coming weeks, most likely at the 2018 Auto Expo. Along with the new FZ-S and Fazer, Yamaha is also getting ready to launch their R15 V3. Updated Fazer and FZ-S will compete with the upcoming Apache 160, Pulsar NS 160, Gixxer and Gixxer SF.
