Kawasaki Vulcan 650 is a super trendy cruiser which has now been launched in India. It is a 225 kg motorcycle sharing the engine doing duty in Ninja 650. Price starts from Rs 5.44 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Kawasaki Vulcan 650 is not a mere cruiser derivative in the 650 cc segment, it has special features that make it a more compelling proposition. It has a traditional cruiser-style low-seating arrangement, over which Kawasaki has incorporated customisable seating position. Vulcan 650 also has adjustable foot pegs for the rider, to compliment the adjustments made to the seat.

Powering the lime green cruiser is the 649 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin fuel-injected engine, that churns out 60.2 bhp max power @ 7,500 rpm and 62.78 Nm peak torque @ 6,600 rpm, mated to 6-speed transmission. The bike comes with an eco meter alerting of the fuel efficiency.


The bike is equipped with Antilock Braking System (ABS), but it is unclear which variant will make it to the sub-continent. Kawasaki Vulcan S ABS variant weighs 3 kg more, at 228 kg.

New Kawasaki Vulcan 650 is offered as a CKD. It to compete with the likes of Harley Davidson Street 750 and the upcoming Royal Enfield 650 cc Twins – Interceptor and Conti GT.
